Kingston, NY to New Baltimore, NY

Miles Traveled 42.2
Total Miles Traveled 4542
Day 267

We started our day with cloudy skies and periods of light rain, but after being underway less than an hour the rain gave way to an occasional peek at the sun.  I took this picture of a train crossing the railroad bridge while leaving our anchorage this morning.

This is the Saugerties Lighthouse, first constructed in 1869, its coast guard service ended in 1954.  A non-profit organization purchased the lighthouse in 1986, restored it, and offers two bed and breakfast rooms, and public tours.

We saw a few deer on our way up river today.

This is the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, first constructed in 1874; it marks a sandy ridge known as Middle Ground flats and acts as an aid to navigation of the river.  Its unique shape was designed to protect it from ice floes and river debris.

Yes, this is beautiful country, and have seen several deer, their light brown coat really stands out against the tree's. Sure hope they have fuel or we may have to stay here this summer and float back down in the fall.
