Colchester, VT to Rouses Point, NY

Miles Traveled 37.5
Total Miles Traveled 4759
Day 278

The winds decreased overnight providing calm waters for our adventure north to Canada. We will stay at a marina tonight, before crossing the border tomorrow morning.  Our main source of communication while in Canada will be through Wi-Fi when it is available.  We will not use our cell phones unless necessary to avoid expensive global roaming charges.  I plan to keep our blog current, but will only update it with the Wi-Fi signal.

We cruised across Malletts Bay, through a narrow causeway channel, toward Champlain Lake.

As we turned north, our new friends “Serenity” turned south taking a two month cruise through the Erie Canal system.

About half way through our cruise today, we came upon a ferry crossing.  We had wide open water for several miles, but all of the sudden there are 3 ferries running back and forth across the lake along with a couple of sailboats on the other side of the crossing.  We changed course with a couple of zigzags, then continued on our planned course.

By the time we reached the marina, the wind had picked up again along with a little chop on the lake. Just before sunset, we had rain all around us but it passed us by.

You are really moving. I like your pictures, sunset? Or sun rise. Lots of water, deep, deep, water? Keep that light house handy. Mommy
