It’s been awhile since we’ve had an anchorage like Black
Creek on the St. Johns River, what a great place to relax and enjoy nature.
We cruised South…up river to Palatka today. The St Johns River between Jacksonville and
Palatka is more like a lake than a river, nearly 3 miles across at its widest
point and 310 miles long, it’s the longest river in the state of Florida.
The river gets its tea color from tannins, which are
natural substances in decaying plant material.

After securing the boat, we met friends from Indiana
that live in Palatka, we had a great visit and have planned a cruise on the
river tomorrow.
