Day 34

We anchored for a few days in a cove on Second Creek; yesterday we had the whole place to ourselves except for the occasional fishermen.  The area around the lake is part of Joe Wheeler State Park, so there are no roads or houses with lake access.

We explored the area again with the dinghy, and tried our luck looking for buried treasures with our metal detector.  You guessed it, no treasures just pop tabs and buried cans.  Can’t wait until we get to the treasure coast of Florida!

This is the first snake we have seen since starting the loop, I tried to stay focused on him all the way across the lake hoping a big bass or red tail hawk would spot him for dinner.  I’m glad we saw him after the treasure hunt!

We watched this raccoon eating fish for his dinner, we didn’t notice him until we heard a loud growl, it was two raccoons fighting over this fishing spot.

Tomorrow is the first day of the AGLCA rendezvous and we will be involved in several informational meetings and vendor displays this week.  The Wi-Fi and cell service here is very poor, so I may not update the blog until we  leave next Sunday.
