Miles Traveled 36.5
Total Miles Traveled 720
Day 40

It was 37 degrees this morning with steam rolling off the water; we may have to think about picking up the pace going south if it keeps this up.  We pulled out of our anchorage at 9:30 and called the lock master at Wilson lock when we were about 2 miles out.  There were two boats at the lock, and he would hold the lock open for us. After securing our boat in the lock, I apologized to one of the boats “Firebird” in the lock waiting for us, he said no problem,  you’re buying drinks tonight.  We had planned to anchor in Bear Creek, but decided to anchor with “Firebird” and “Spiritus” at an anchorage called the Rock Piles.

When leaving the lock the river runs through a narrow 2 mile section before crossing under U.S. Highway 72 Bridge at Florence Alabama.  The admiral is at the helm approaching the bridge.

We passed this power plant unloading a barge of coal, looks like his bucket has a leak.

The leafs are changing color, more reason to make that turn south in a few days.

We arrived at the Rock Piles anchorage and agreed to meet on “Spiritus” for “Docktails” at 5:30.  Since it was 3 o’clock, we decided to drop the dink and do a little fishing.

Guess who caught the fish?

I couldn’t update the blog last night……….no signal at all.
