Day 120
We finally had a break in the weather and left Marker 1
Marina this morning about 8:30. The wind
has been blowing hard for two days so we have been waiting for a chance to get
across Tampa Bay and avoid the rock and roll.
It was a great day for cruising and it felt good to be back on the Loop.
This is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge crossing Tampa Bay; our
course took us about 7 miles across the bay.
We saw several dolphins; I caught this one jumping our
wake.
We didn’t see any Manatee’s, but did see several speed
limit signs.
This guy really had a bad day.
We anchored behind Longboat Key and dropped the dinghy in
to explore the area; there are some really nice houses and boats here. We anchored behind Mar Vista restaurant so we
took the dinghy in for dinner.
View from the Mar Vista dock at our anchorage.

Looks like a good spot.
It was, and exploring in the dinghy was pretty cool too. Does running aground in the dinghy count? Can't believe how skinny the water is in Florida.
