Another fast moving day on the Illinois River, our
average speed increased about 2 mph with the high water. We did have to constantly watch for debris,
and some of the navigational aids were moved off station.
The Gateway Western Railroad Bridge.
This car ferry was busy loading and unloading vehicles on
each side of the river.
We arrived at Grafton Illinois, Mile 0 of the Illinois
River. The Illinois River flows into the
upper Mississippi River at Mile 218, we will continue south to Mile 0 at the junction
of the Ohio River.
