Dog River Marina to Orange Beach, AL

Day 63

The sun was shining when we left the marina, but as soon as we started into Mobile Bay we ran into light fog.  After an hour or so we had blue skies and calm waters.  This is our view heading southeast to the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW)

No land in sight…or landmarks to reference our position.  Another new experience for us.

Leaving Mobile Bay and entering the ICW.

Notice the foamy salt water.

It took about 3 hours to cross Mobile Bay from the marina, to the ICW.  We are in the Gulf Shores, AL area, and decided to stop at Lulu’s for lunch.  Lulu’s restaurant is operated by Lucy Buffett, Jimmy Buffet’s sister, and is located on the ICW.

We were pretty disappointed not to have seen a dolphin crossing the Bay, but we did catch a glimpse of one just before arriving at our anchorage.  Sorry, didn’t get a picture.

Didn't see that as an option at Lulu's, we had the Crazy Sista's cheeseboogy, what a treat!

HI! It was fun spending time with you two yesterday. I hope you can stay for Gallery night. If not, be safe and hope we'll see you again someday.
